Toulon is the French city in Var department. It is located in the south of France. It has a large military harbor and naval base. The military harbor is located on the center of Mediterranean coast. Le Mourillon is beach located on the east side of Toulon. There is a fishing port that dates back to 16th century. Museum of Asian Art can be found at Le Mourillon. Mount Faron is the highest mountain in the city. You can ride in a cable car to reach Mount Faron. There is a memorial that features 1944 Allied landings in Provence at the peak of Mount Faron. If you visit Toulon, you will notice that it is surrounded by a fortification. The fortification was constructed by Vauban during 1678. It was where Napoleon Bonaparte departed for his campaign to conquer Italy in 1796.

Quai de la Sinse has several restaurants and cafes. There are also many restaurants at Avenue de la Resistance, allees Courbet, and Avenue Republique.

Gare de Toulon railway station provides transportation service to surrounding cities. You can go to Corsica by taking ferries at the port of Toulon. Toulon-Hyeres Airporti is located closest to the town. You can drive your car to Toulon by using highways such as A50, A7 and A57 auto route.
