Saint-Raphael is the capital of Var department, Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur region, France. It is located near to an older town called Frejus. Frejus and Saint-Raphael form a metropolitan town called Frejus Saint-Raphael. Saint-Raphael has a Mediterranean climate. During summer, the weather is hot and dry. From June to September, the temperature is the hottest and can reach as high as 28 degree Celsius. During winter, the weather is cool. Mistral wind blows past the town regularly. The winter takes place in December, January and February. The lowest temperature during the winter is 3 degree Celsius. Sometimes, the Mistral wind was prevented by the Maures.


Saint-Raphael has beautiful scenery. You will find many mountains and hills in the town. The highest mountain is Mont Vinaigre. Other mountains in the town are Rastel d'Agay, and Pic d'Aurele. The town has unique seascape which features large rocks such as Cap Roux, and Rock of Saint-Barthelemy.

Saint-Raphael is located on the north side of the Mediterranean Sea.

Saint-Raphael offers various types of transportation including rail, air, bus, and boat. The railway station offers TGV high speed train services. Visitors can also ride in the iDTGV trains. TGV trains offer transportation services from Paris to Nice. It has four airports including L'aéroport Nice Côte d'Azur and L'aéroport de Marseille Provence. The nearest airport is L'aéroport Nice Côte d'Azur, which is about 45 km from the town. Saint-Raphael has many bus routes that offer express and fast services to nearby areas in the town. Boats of Saint-Raphael fetch passengers to other places such as St. Aygulf and islands of Lerrins.
