Nimes is a French capital with 6 cantons. It is situated in Gard department in Languedoc-Roussillon region, France. It has a length of 133 m and a width of 101 m. It can accommodate up to 16,300 spectators. It was used as a local stadium until the 18th century. Several music bands have recorded their live concerts at the Roman amphitheatre including Dire Straits band, Rammstein metal group, and Metallica metal band.


If you want to take a stroll, you can go to the local fountain garden, Jardins de la Fontaine. Jardins de la Fontain, a magnificent fountain garden built during the reign of Roman Empire. There are plenty of spaces to walk. The fountain garden is consists mostly of pavements where visitors can walk. The pond has a few swans. The fountain garden is protected by a wrought iron gate. On top of the wrought iron gate, visitors will notice a wrought iron crocodile that is chained to a palm tree.

To see exhibitions of various collections, you can visit Musee des Beaux Arts de Nimes. Musee des Beaux Arts de Nimes offers find a collection of fine arts from 15th – 20th centuries. The arts that are represented at the museum are created by famous artists.

Nimes Cathedral is a catholic church that features a combination of Romanesque and Gothic styles. It was built on the site, where the temple dedicated to Augustus stood. Several buildings that offer prominent architecture include Carre d'art, and mediatheque.

The local airport is Nimes-Ales-Camargue-Cevennes Airport, which offers connections to areas around the city. Majority of the tourists use high speed rail system to go to the place around Paris, Marseille and other nearby destinations.
