Annecy is a metropolitan area located in Haute-Savoie department, Rhone Alpes, France. The town is situated southeast of France. It is about 35 km south from the capital of Switzerland, Geneva. There are numerous places in Annecy where tourists can go sightseeing. Palais de I'Isle is a famous tourist attraction. The castle is located in the middle of Thiou canal. Unlike other castles, it has a triangular shape. Formerly, the Lord of Annecy lived in the castle. Later, the castle was converted into an administrative headquarter for the Count of Geneva. Today, the castle is a history museum that exhibits artifacts from the middle ages.
