In the great city of London, transport cannot be possible without South West Trains thus making it one of the most useful travel resources in Europe. The train of south west starts its journey from Waterloo and connects south west part of London along with other countries like Surrey, Berkshire, Hampshire and many more. The main route of these train passes through the suburb areas of London. South Western Railways of London along with Stagecoach group and Chiltern group have taken the franchise of this train and introduced it for the people. In the month of December of the year 2004, crossing all the hurdles it has been exposed to the people of U.K.
More than 1700 trains are functioned daily by this SWT or South West Train. After the time table for these trains is introduced, the performance of these trains is becoming better. This service covers all the suburb routes staring from the south west part of London to the stations of Surrey. Apart from the trains of the suburb areas of London, these trains take the passengers for long distance ride as well. People can make a trip beginning from Waterloo to popular places like Portsmouth, Bournemouth, Southampton and Weymouth.
The ticketing service of these trains is just like that of any other major cities. Travelcards are there to help the passengers of London to take the ride of these trains. Besides, facility of purchasing season tickets is also available so that people don't have to buy regular tickets for their daily journey. Oyster cards and smart cards are other two important fare services brought in the system by south west train service as well. From the introductory time south west train have gained immense popularity because of its punctuality, best services and relevant train fare.
The inclusion of Island Line Trains in the franchise proved to be beneficial for south western railways. In Ryde, presence of several tunnels was the biggest hindrance for this railway service. The space in those tunnels was not enough for the normal standard trains to pass. To overcome such a circumstance rolling stock of London Underground is introduced and different classes of train have started to run. These trains were mainly the alternative of slam door trains, which were creating some troubles during the ride.
When the 450 and 444 Desiro stock has come into existence, from that time the railways service have improved more day by day. For British Railways, south west train has started operating 455 class commuter trains for regular passengers. Apart from these services, Jupiter fleet, Diesel fleet, Express Sprinter of Class 158, South Western turbo of Class 159, Greyhound fleet have contributed a lot for the passengers all over the London city including Greater London and other places. Different train servicing places are also there to maintain the trains properly.
Such train depots are established around various places of London. Traincare depots in Wimbledon, Bournemouth, Salisbury, Fratton, Farnham and Northam have been established for looking after all types of trains. Different diagrams are also designed for south west trains previously, which are still running all over the city. The railways service has taken the initiative to preserve the structure of various trains. Those units of south west trains are of Class 423, 421,411,412. Where Dartmoor Railways have taken the responsibility of preserving class 411, Kent Railways have taken the opportunity to preserve class 412 giving it the heritage symbol.
As South West Trains run under renowned franchisees, there was no such shortage of trains have been seen ever. People across the great city of London find utmost comfort and facility in these trains. It can be said that, with the time these trains will come up with more improvement and advancement.
