Eurostar, the high speed train service, has changed the entire scenario of the whole cross- channel travel market in Western Europe. Going from London to Paris, Brussels or other European country was never so easy and quick. Euro star is jointly owned by EUKL, SNCF and SNCB and they are responsible for operating the Eurostar train services in their respective territories. The channel tunnel, owned by Eurotunnel, is the most crucial part of the Eurostar train routes.

The service began on 14 November 1994 between Waterloo International station in London, Gare du Nord in Paris and Brussels-South railway station in Brussels. But on 14 November 2007 Eurostar services in London transferred from Waterloo to the St Pancras International Station.

Eurostar Rail offers seventeen weekday London Paris Train including six non-stops and eleven London to Brussels services including three running non-stop. There is also one round from trip London to Disneyland Paris. There are two other route services also: one is a weekly London-Ashford-Avignon service running from July to September and the other one is the snow trains to Bourg-Saint-Maurice, Aime-la-Plagne and Moutiers in the Alps which run only during winters.

The fares start from just £69 for the round trip for going from London to Brussels or Paris by Eurostar and £65 for London to Lille. It includes the travel charges and seat reservation. There are three seating classes, namely
  • Standard Class
  • Leisure Select
  • Business Premier
Eurostar is the first rail service to introduce Business Lounges and a Loyalty Program. Its first class is divided into Business Premier and Leisure Select. The Eurostar prices are different for different classes, being highest for the Business Premier and lowest for the standard class. The ticket booking is very easy and convenient. Eurostar is a member of the Amadeus, which means that the booking of the cheap eurostar tickets can be done using internet from anywhere in the world.

Eurostar is has revolutionized the train travel. In the first quarter of the 2009, the Eurostar's punctuality was estimated to be around 95%. The journey is fast, relaxing and luxurious. Many researches have also proved that traveling by Eurostar train is also a greener way of travel as it produces about ten percent less carbon then produced by airplanes. And with all these high standards of services Eurostar has the largest share of passengers traveling across Western Europe.
