Eurostar Special Ticket Price Just £69 Return to South of France

Eurostar, the high speed train service between UK and Europe had announced a special offer for the travelers £69 return to the South of France. A number of tickets will be available at this price; travelers can book from Eurostar’s contact centre. This is a tie up with French Railways – SNCF.

Travelers can choose 4 destinations Lyon, Avignon, Aix-en-Provence or Marseille from London St Pancras International.  Connecting in Lille, customers will be able to swap more seamlessly from Eurostar trains to French high-speed TGVs which have carriages specially designated for Eurostar travellers. Through this ‘code-share’ agreement with SNCF, passengers can travel by using special connecting trains from Lille to Lyon, Avignon, Aix-en-Provence or Marseille, while the normal prices for return ticket is £109 to Lyon and £119 to Avignon, Aix-en-Provence and Marseille. The fastest journey time from London to Lyon is 5 hours 4 minutes; Avignon in 6 hours 13 minutes; Aix-en-Provence in 6 hours 36 minutes and Marseille in 6 hours 50 minutes by using this service. Eurostar Offering New Class of Service

Eurostar LogoEurostar, the high speed channel tunnel train which connects to UK with France and Belgium recently announced a important change in its service class range. To the changing needs of customers, Eurostar introducing Standard Premier class. This is a mid-class service designed to appeal to, not only the most cost-conscious business travelers, but also leisure travelers who want that little bit extra space and service for their money.

The Standard Premier Eurostar tickets will be available from Wednesday 5th May for the travel starting September 1st. This new class will replace Eurostar’s existing Leisure Select Class, which has been on offer since 2005. The change comes as a result of market research and customer feedbacks.

Commercial Director of Eurostar’s Nick Mercer said:

“Following extensive research and feedback from our corporate clients and business travel agents, it became very clear that there was a strong appetite for a mid-range product pitched between our fully-flexible Business Premier and Standard classes.”

Volcanic ash clouds send Air passengers rush to Channel Tunnel

Rush on Eurostar StationDisruption to air travel in Europe due to Volcano clouds sends thousands of extra passengers swamped Eurostar, the Channel Tunnel train between London to Paris on Friday. Ash clouds of an Icelandic Volcano hit to flight services in across the Europe. Thousands of passengers are stuck on airports after that incident and trying to take alternative transport to get back to home.

The Eurostar Channel Tunnel rail service laid 3 extra trains between Paris and London but seats rapidly filled up. The company said ten thousand (10000) more people tried to book Eurostar seats on Friday. “We’ve never seen so many passengers on such a day, when normally we’d transport between 26,000 and 28,000 people,” said a Eurostar spokeswoman. Eurostar already mentioned on the website that “We would ask that you only come to our stations if you hold a confirmed reservation for travel.” The Eurostar also mentioned the information of 3 extra London Paris Train on the website with train no. and time table.

According to a spokesperson of P & O Ferries Company, they had carried 11,000 passengers across the Channel on Friday and Saturday while normally they carry only few hundred, most of the passengers were returning to the UK.
