Popular Beaches of France

France is surrounded by two water bodies: – the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. The beaches of these two water bodies are very beautiful and their scenic beauty only attracts the visitors from places. Some of the popular beaches of France are:-

Normandy Coast Beaches:

Normandy coast beaches are mainly popular for its history.  During the World WarII in France, the Allied Troops used to land in this beach. Apart from this historical background there are many beautiful beaches like Omaha Beach, Les Salines and Martinique beach, and Deauville Beaches. This beach is located at the east of the Contentin Peninsula where the Cherbourg port meets the English Channel. This beach is easy to reach by booking a ferry from the UK. Brittany Coast Beaches:

The Brittany beach is the second-most well known beach of France. It is situated in the Northwestern France. This beach is located in between English Channel which is in the north and the Atlantic Ocean which is in the south. It is the only beach which offers the people with beer and wine. This beach has many coastlines and each of the coastlines differs from place to place. Some of the beaches of this coastline are La Baule, Queiberon and Belle-Ile. This beach can be reached by ship, by air and the flights are from Guernsey, London Stansted and East Midlands. Even the beach can be reached by train from Quimper, St-Malo, Paris Montparnasse and the TGV goes to Rennes.

The Atlantic Coastline:

This beach is not very far away from Spain. This beach is well-known for its gorgeous beaches made up of sand. The weather here is very sunny. It is also known as the surfing capital of France. Some of the beaches of this coastline are Cap ferret, Biscarrosse and Biarritz. This coastline can be reached both by air and train. Both domestic and international flights are available for this coastline. But for reaching different beaches of this coastline you have to avail different modes of transportation.

French Mediterranean Beaches

Some beaches of French Riviera are just beautiful and awesome. People from all over the world come here to visit the place and even the film stars. Some of the beaches are Camargue, Saint-Maxime, Cassis, Sète, Cap d’Agde.

Bruges Christmas Market

The Bruges Christmas Market is among those markets, which offers you real good time with its delightful features each year. This Christmas the markets will be there from November 26, 2011 to January 2, 2012. It will take place mainly in the Main Market Square, Simon Stevin Plein, and in few other areas in Bruges. Ferry ports available near these markets would be Zeebrugge and Calais, and Brussels would be the nearest airport. There will be facilities like Coach parking.

As a city Bruges gives you a medieval feel with its rich culture, architecture, and historical background. During Christmas its market glitters with various cabins and small shops where you can purchase variety of gifts, food, snacks, beverages, etc. Apart form these there are also shops where you can buy clothes and things you will need for your Christmas celebrations. In market areas the historical towers and buildings are lighted up with beautiful flashing and twinkling lights. Since chocolate is an important part of Bruges, you will certainly find little cute stalls selling various kinds of delicious chocolates. In the Market Square, during the Bruges Christmas Market, you will find stalls offering you Belgian waffles (waffle biscuits) and the strong Flemish beers. A special kind of hot herbal wine, ghluwein, is served here. You got to drink it when it is warm. The Simon Stevin Square is decorated as an enchanted place with the flavor of Christmas. Here you will get Christmas shops offering you things like Christmas mementos, tokens, etc. Stalls offering you food and beverages will also be available here.

There would be comfy bars and restaurants where you can spend an equally good time. The ice-rink in the market square is another entertaining aspect of the Bruges Christmas Market. You might also go for the Snow & Ice Sculpture Festival, where you can spend a good decent time with the sculptures exhibited.

When you plan to join the Bruges Christmas Market, you should also make it a point to explore the city, for; it has its own attractions that you won’t like to miss. The stalls, ice-rink, and shops are expected to be closed on Christmas Day; otherwise they remain open even on Sundays.
